Health and Safety
The prevention of injury and ill-health, and maintaining a first-rate safety culture leading to real performance improvements are key elements of our approach to managing safety. Caring for the safety, health and well-being of our employees and everyone affected by our activities is of critical importance to us.
Health and Safety forms an intrinsic part of our integrated management system ensuring we incorporate it in to all our business activities. Our H&S management system has been developed in accordance with OHSAS 18001.
Our safety culture means that all staff accept individual responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and their colleagues. Aside from the legal requirement, we believe this behaviour to be fundamental to a safe working environment. Our approach is to impress on all our employees and supply chain that safety is the most important part of everything we do.
The Health & Safety at Work (NI) Order imposes a Statutory Duty on employers to ensure in so far as reasonably practicable the Health & Safety of their employees and others who may be affected by their work activities.
Employees also have a statutory duty to take reasonable care for themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.
To enable both ourselves as employers and also our employees to carry out these duties, responsibility for Health & Safety is to be effectively assigned, accepted and implemented at all levels within the organisation.
