Integrated Management System

T & A Kernoghan Group believes in a holistic approach to systems management and have incorporated the requirements of EN ISO 14001, EN ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 into an Integrated Management System (IMS). The system is registered with and monitored by a third party UKAS approved certification body. By applying and progressively developing their IMS systems and procedures the group aims are to manage works in order to:

  • Satisfy and exceed clients' needs and expectations
  • Review and benchmark improving performance
  • Continually identify issues that hinder the efficiency and success of the service
  • Develop long standing and significant relationships
  • Develop an culture and environment in which all staff feel fulfilled and enjoy their work
  • Generate a reasonable and sustainable return for the business
  • Ensure that the success of any contract generates the wish of all partners for the relationship to continue beyond the initial project.

This statement sets out T A Kernighan’s commitment to environmental, quality and health & safety performance throughout our operations.

Our commitment to client satisfaction, safe working conditions, sustainable construction principles and quality workmanship is achieved through a structured integrated management system incorporating the requirements of  EN ISO 1400-1: 2004 , EN ISO 900-1 : 2008 and OHSAS 1800-1 : 2007
The company will ensure that adequate resources are made available to achieve and maintain the highest possible safety, quality and environmental standards in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, standards and other contractual requirements pertinent to the Company's business.

Additionally: 

  • We believe that all accidents should be preventable and focus attention on the continual improvement of our safety performance through the provision of safe systems of work and the identification of hazards and the elimination or control of associated risks.
  • We endeavour were practicable to use sustainable or recycled materials and manage waste effectively by promoting the principle of reduce, reuse, recycle.
    We constantly strive to avoid pollution through effective environmental management.
  • We endeavour to adopt the goal of first time, every time.

Realistic measurable objectives and targets for environmental quality and safety will be set in line with this policy which will be reviewed annually to ensure continual improvement and the effectiveness of our integrated management system.

The specific details of organisation, responsibilities and arrangements are set out in the Company’s IMS Policy Manual. This policy is communicated to our employees, subcontractors and is made available to other interested parties on request.
