Social Housing
Hillview - 5 Phased Housing Development
This project was carried out over 5 phases, and consisted of the construction of a new build social housing scheme for North & West Housing Association. The number of dwellings to be constructed was 76 and comprises of a ranged of terraced, semi-detached and bungalow dwellings.
The site is located in the Ardoyne area of North Belfast and was brownfield with varying ground conditions. This resulted in a combination of foundation designs involving pre-cast piles and traditional strip foundation.
Regarding sustainability it is anticipated that the site will be awarded a ‘very good’ rating by Eco Homes. This is due to a number of environmental / sustainable features associated with the project:
•The homes are of timber frame construction with a high spec of insulation
•Each dwelling has a rain harvesting system installed
•Solar panels are being installed for the purpose of heating water.
