City East - Design & Build New 5 Storey Office Block
This project involved the redevelopment of a brownfield site on the Newtownards Road in Belfast to form a new 5 storey office block containing sub-lettable office and retail space for new start up businesses within the area and was funded by the following bodies:
• International Fund For Ireland
• Department Of Trade & Industry
• East Belfast Enterprise
• European Union Peace & Reconciliation Fund
The particular location on the Newtownards Road of this project presented a number of challenges which were apparent from the outset:
• The site was located next door to an Ambulance Station therefore we liaised with them on a constant basis to ensure that deliveries to site or parking of site traffic did not in any way hinder their vehicles coming to and from their depot.
• There was limited space around the site therefore a lot of pre-planning and co-ordination was required relating to procurement and storage materials in order to ensure that the right balance was achieved regarding the necessary quantities on site to allow work to progress.
