Elim Church, Lisburn

Elim Church, Lisburn

The scope of the works relate to a 3 storey extension adjacent to the existing 2 storey building and a total refurbishment of the existing premises. As a result of these works an additional 6000 sq feet of space will be available to the client to meet the needs of their expanding congregation. Upon completion the client and their congregation will be able to enjoy the vastly improved facilities relating to disabled access in the form of a new lift, crèche, daycare, kitchens and the Baptismal area.

A large refurbishment project of this nature has proved very challenging relating to specific features associated with the site. The site is located on the main Lisburn to Belfast Road and taking into consideration the extent of traffic that would access and egress the site as the project progressed we liaised with DRD regarding best practice in putting up additional signage advising both motorists and pedestrians and requesting caution.

Limitations regarding storage were placed on the Contracts Team as the footprint of the site was restricted. By liaising with our supply chain a logistical plan was adopted in order to ensure a correct and consistent balance throughout the project whereby a system of small and more frequent deliveries of bulky materials were despatched to site but not at the expense of progress.
