Community Centres
Donaghadee Community Centre
The scope of these works related to the construction of a single storey Community Centre for Ards Borough Council and included the following:
• Gym
• multi-purpose hall
• soft play area,
• meeting rooms,
• offices, kitchen,
• staff room,
• changing room.
Both internally and externally the project benefited from a high specification which was followed to the letter. Throughout the project our Contracts Manager and Site Manager ensured that all detailing of the works was thoroughly reviewed with the design team prior to works commencing, thus ensuring only the best / most practical practices were used / developed. This in turn helped us to ensure quality was strongly upheld and controlled at all times. A Finishes Foreman was employed towards the end of the project to help manage and ensure a high standard of finishes was achieved. We also employed the policy of main contractor carrying out a full and inclusive snagging list of all building elements before offering the building to the design team / client for their inspections, resulting in minimal defects and a highly finished standard.
This project was completed on time and within budget and as a result of our excellent performance on this contract we have been able to tender and be successful in being appointed Main Contractor for a new Community Centre for the council in an adjacent town. This project, in Carrowdore, is worth almost £900k with RPP acting again as lead consultant.
