Leisure and Hospitality
Hanwood Centre Phase 3
The scope of works on this project included the following:
• Construction of new changing room facilities
• Construction of a fitness suite
• Formation of a new 3G full size soccer pitch
• Installation of boundary fencing around the pitch and the overall complex
• Installation of a new floodlighting system for the pitch
• Construction of a new car park
This project presented many challenges, most of which at the start of the scheme. A major element was services diversion as there was an existing 600mm sewerage main and an existing 400mm water main that traversed through the location of the newly proposed pitch. The potential of these issues to disrupt the programme was identified as a priority by our Contracts Team at appointment stage therefore initial contact was made with the relevant utility companies and a series of meetings took place to discuss and agree issues such as methodology, customer notification, down time etc. This process proved successful and all relevant works were carried out successfully with no adverse affect on the overall construction programme.
