Glenravel GAC

The scope of works relates to the construction of a multi-purpose sports and community building totalling 14000 square feet to include facilities such as changing rooms, catering, public bar, fitness suite, steam room, crèche, shop and physiotherapy treatment room.

The building was to be located within the grounds of the local GAA club who were a prominent stakeholder within the Client body. Upon appointment our Contracts Team engaged fully with them in order to understand what their needs would be throughout the project, their main aim was to maintain the full access and use of their playing fields and temporary changing rooms throughout the season.

Taking this all into consideration and bearing in mind space was limited around the site an initial phase of enabling works was proposed and implemented by our Contracts Team and comprised the following works:

• Relocation of current changing room facilities which were former mobile classrooms
• Re-diversion of services to the relocated changing facilities
• Demolishing of 2 existing buildings to facilitate establishment of our onsite facilities and to allow access adequate access around the site once the new building had commenced
• Creating defined access and egress points for construction traffic / personnel in order to ensure full segregation. This meant that the health and safety of club members and visitors during non-working hours was not compromised as full and safe access to their current facilities was available.
